What if we asked each other, what is the most important to you, right now, without thinking about it, what is our first response?
Evil has been around since the beginning of time. Evil has no creativity. Evil plays the same game over and over throughout time. Evil speaks lies to our minds, trying to bring us down to his size, in the same ways he spoke to Eve in the garden. Are times worse for us? OR, because of technology, is evil promoted more, trying to get our focus off God’s face so we will look more into the face of evil? We are an easily distracted people.
In times like these, you need a Savior
In times like these, you need an anchor
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
“Run from anything that stimulates youthful lust. Follow anything that makes you want to do right. Pursue faith and love and peace, and enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.” Paul mentoring Timothy (2 Tim 2:22, NLT)
This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
This Rock is Jesus, The only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
“Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. the Lord’s servants must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone. They must be able to teach effectively and be patient with difficult people. They should gently teach those who oppose the truth.” (2 Tim 2:23, NLT)
In times like these you need the Bible
In times like these oh be not idle
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
“Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will believe the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the Devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.” (2 Tim 2:25, NLT
This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
This Rock is Jesus, The only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.”
(2 Tim 3:1, NLT)
Back to the question we asked from the beginning…what or who IS the most important…what is our first response?
In times like these, I have a Savior
In times like these, I have an anchor
I’m very sure, I’m very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
This Rock is Jesus, The only One
I’m very sure, I’m very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
In Jesus Name, I pray, believe and behave. Amen.
