KEEP A SMILE ON YOUR FACE!
From Romans 12, The Message – Living it!
As we gather for worship in awhile today, this seems so fitting to prepare our hearts, minds and souls with this passage. It gives us the “how to” after the sermon is over, to truly LIVE IT out loud!
“If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else;
if you help, just help don’t’ take over,
if you teach, stick to your teaching;
if you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy;
if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate;
if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond;
if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated wit with or depressed by them.
KEEP A SMILE ON YOUR FACE.” (Emphasis mine!)
Keeping a smile on your face while doing all that God asks and sees you through is put there by accepting the wonderful Grace, Mercy and Unconditional Love from our Heavenly Father, himself to us.
So, is what he is telling us to be and do too much to ask? No, I don’t think so.
So…”therefore” enter worship with a smile on your face. Leave worship with the same smile. Make ’em wonder what you’ve got or what you are up to…it will make ’em ask! Then tell the sweet, sweet story of Jesus and what He has done and still doing for you. Ah, simply Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We have a reason to smile! It’s not forced when we think of all that you have done and continue to do. You LOVE us, no matter what. You accept us for who we are right now. And You give us part of Your work to extend Your joy to us. Made complete. We love You, back, Lord. And I’m smiling…
In Jesus Name, Amen
