The battle cry of the commander of warriors is sometimes, “RETREAT!” The commander brings his warriors in for rest, a pep talk, encouragement and more instruction that arms them for the next part of the continuing battle. That is the battle cry of God to the Psalmist. “Retreat! Come to Me and learn from Me!” “Be still and listen.”

“You’re my place of quiet retreat;
I wait for your Word to renew me.” Psalm 119:114, Msg

STOP! Retreat…listen for His slightest whisper that brings calm and wisdom.

Dear Heavenly Father, 
Sometime we just need to pause in the battle and do nothing. We evaluate where we are and where we might be headed with You in charge, leading the charge. And we listen. Speak to our hearts in the stillness of this quiet hour with you. Thank you for this blessing of just being with you.
