Now that I have your attention…(smiling)…let’s think about our Advocate Who sits before on the throne and speaks to God for us. What a grand thought to think about all day long today. Jesus Christ, our Advocate, speaks for us as we pray in His Name. His Holy Spirit guides us to obey, no matter what, as Jesus advocates for us.

“Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word. I rejoice in your word like one who finds a great treasure. I hate and abhor all falsehood, but I love your law. I will praise you seven times a day because all your laws are just. Those who love your law have great peace and do not stumble. I long for your salvation, LORD, so I have obeyed your commands. I have obeyed your decrees, and I love them very much. Yes, I obey your commands and decrees, because you know everything i do.”

A reminder from Paul speaking to the Romans, full of God’s Spirit…

“If God is for us, who can be against us?”

“So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us? AND who would dare tangle with God by messing with on of God’s chosen? Who would dare even to point a finger? The ONE who died for us–who was raised t life for us!–is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.” Romans 8, Msg
