Once we were god-less. No peace, no hope, no life. Paul words to Titus are bold and full of enthusiasm for what God was done for us. As leaders, we are put in charge to show and tell who God is and what He has done for us…so that others will know!
“God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s available for everyone! We’re being shown how to turn our backs on a godless, indulgent life, and how to take on a God-filled, God-honoring life. This new life is starting right now, and is whetting our appetites for the glorious day when our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ appears. He offered himself as a sacrifice to free us from a dark, rebellious life into his good, pure life, making us a people he can proud of, energetic in goodness.” Titus 2
“Tell them all this. Build up their courage, and discipline them if they get out of line. You’re in charge. Don’t let anyone put you down.” Titus 2
Paul is telling his protege to stand firm on what counts and what’s right because Jesus salvation is for all of us! Hope, peace, unconditional love, eternal light has arrived! We all must take a stand! We can’t be wishy-washy about what we now know. When it is wrong, according to scripture, then say so…but with an energetic, passionate Spirit of love and care in our hearts for the destiny of people. This comes from the center of our being…where Jesus lives. Spread the Love and the Hope! There’s more to come!
Take it on.

Dear Heavenly Father, This is hard stuff at times. It is easier to be quiet and not take the abuse. But there are times when we are called to stand up and remind others of what You said in your word. I am reminded of the many times, on the mountain, when you were here on this earth, explaining the Truth and meaning of You…”You have heard it said, but I say unto you…” Help us to help others understand your word by daily teaching us Your Word and the Truth of Who You are. Feed us, so we can share with others. Give us the power to live, with enthusiasm, a God-filled life that honors You.
In Jesus Name, Amen

Paul was speaking directly to Titus. How can you know every word of that is meant to be directed to everyone?
