After six days of creating all that is “excellent in every way”, and the seventh to rest, God’s story tells us how His creation is to work. He places His created man in His beautiful creation to tend to it, although at first the job is fairly easy as it was created to water itself with the rivers from the ground up. There is no rain…yet. From the dust of this perfect garden, God created man. From the man, He created woman to help the man. 

Relationship created. God to man and woman. Man to woman. Man and woman back to God, their Creator. Adam exclaimed, ‘She is part of my own flesh and bone! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of a man.’ This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife; and the two are untied into one.” Genesis 2:23-24, NLT

The created relationship of God to man/woman is pure. “Now, although Adam and his wife were both naked, neither of them felt any shame.” 

No shame, no guilt, no regrets. Pure holy relationship. How long did it last? How long before the pure relationship with God and man was changed? I wonder this morning, how long it took for man and woman to fall and the world to change with one bite of forbidden fruit? Was it only a day? A week? Many years? In our concept of time? 

How long does it take for a relationship to take an ugly turn in our lives now? A few words, a careless action, and a misunderstanding in a few moments?

God creates relationship with Him. This is the important part of His created world. To God, I wonder if this is the most beautiful part of creation, and not the beauty of trees, grass, flowers and waterfalls?

How are we doing? Today? I am meditating on relationships this beautiful June morning. I have a day off work to think about how important relationship, created by God, truly is and what I can be and do to make my relationships better because of God and what He has done for all of us. 

It all relates to Him. God’s Story. All about Him.
