(The Story of Jesus)
Isaiah said it would happen and it did. Of course, God told the prophet what to announce about his Son.

“When Jesus got word that John had been arrested, he returned to Galilee. He moved from his hometown, Nazareth, to the lakeside village Capernaum, nestled at the base of the Zebulun and Naphtali hills. This move completed Isaiah’s sermon:

‘Land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali, road to the sea, over Jordan, Galilee, crossroads for the nations.
People sitting out their lives in the dark saw a huge light;
Sitting in that dark, dark country of death, they watched the sun come up.’

“This Isiah-prophesied sermon came to life in Galilee the moment Jesus stared preaching. He picked up where John left off:
‘Change your life. God’s kingdom is here.’ Matthew 4, Msg

The Son is up! The Light has come, cutting through the darkness with all power and strength, as a humble servant. The dichotomy of thinking stops us to meditate on this man/God, Jesus the Christ.

And I’m singing…for there ARE thousands of reasons to worship our Lord! And that many ways to change my own life.

Dear Heavenly Father, Hallowed is Your Name. May Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our needs as You see them. And forgive us our sin as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptations but deliver us from all evil. For You have all power. To You be the glory forever and ever, Amen.
