The Good News!
Jesus leaves the area where He has confronted the Pharisees Truth of the pollution of their hearts, to go to Tyre, a port city. For whatever reason to leave His familiar surroundings, He goes to a home where He didn’t think he would be found…but they found Him.
Mark 7, The Message
24-26 From there Jesus set out for the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house there where he didn’t think he would be found, but he couldn’t escape notice. He was barely inside when a woman who had a disturbed daughter heard where he was. She came and knelt at his feet, begging for help. The woman was Greek, Syro-Phoenician by birth. She asked him to cure her daughter.
27 He said, “Stand in line and take your turn. The children get fed first. If there’s any left over, the dogs get it.”
28 She said, “Of course, Master. But don’t dogs under the table get scraps dropped by the children?”
29-30 Jesus was impressed. “You’re right! On your way! Your daughter is no longer disturbed. The demonic affliction is gone.” She went home and found her daughter relaxed on the bed, the torment gone for good.
Jesus has now let it be known that His mission to seek and to save lost people includes ALL of us, Gentiles and Jews alike. All who come to HIM will be found in HIM. This is the GOOD NEWS for ALL of us who are seeking to be saved by Him. Did you get that? ALL who love God back, accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord will be saved.
“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that NO ONE need be destroyed; by believing in him, ANYONE can have a whole and lasting life.” John 3:16, The Message
But they found Him…
Have you noticed Him? Has He entered your house? Have you found Him? Are you living as a “found” person? Do we realize Jesus came for all?
Dear Heavenly Father, Sometimes we need to look up and notice where You are working as well as Who You are to us. You are not just a part of our lives but You are Life itself. You are welcome in our homes and hearts. May You abide with us as we abide with you. We love you back. You are all we need. But we must remember You are for ALL of us, not just some of us. Help us to be alert to that fact! No matter who we are or where we come from, You died and rose for ALL of us. In Jesus Name, Amen
