Taking a Hike Through Hebrews
We ALL have those times when we question our faith. Our steps become weighted, slowly down to a pace that makes us more tired. The best way to pick up the pace is to look up, into the face of Jesus, and…remember. Remember how he dealt with shame, humility, and the cross. Most of all, remember you are not alone.
Hebrews 12, The Message
1-3 Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!
What do we learn?
–Give up what is holding you down and don’t stop running the race!
–Keep your eyes on Jesus…he’s running with you, just ahead of you!
–Study how Jesus ran the race here…then do that.
–Stay focused.
–Be grateful. Live gratefully.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you! You have lifted me up once again, dusted me off, and put me back in the race. Thank you for saving us and never leaving us. Thank you for your example dear Jesus. Thank you for Your Word that gives power and adrenaline to each step we take on this journey. Thank you for helping us remember.
In Jesus Name, Amen
