The Revelation
Fear forms from uncertainty. We want to know what is going to happen before it happens. That’s human nature. Sometimes fear of circumstances back us into a corner and we come out fighting, with the adrenaline powered anger that builds within us. Other times we cower in fear and curl up in that corner and give up. Neither of these options are what Christ wants from us. There will some trying times we will have to face because of our belief, but we don’t give up. Ever. We let God take control. He has defeated satan before and He will again. We ARE Christ conquerors and we ARE safe from the clutches of the devil. It’s up to us to choose wisely Whom we will listen and follow. Devil and death or Christ and Life? “Listen!”, says John.
Revelation 2, The Message
To Smyrna
8 Write this to Smyrna, to the Angel of the church. The Beginning and Ending, the First and Final One, the Once Dead and Then Come Alive, speaks:
9 “I can see your pain and poverty—constant pain, dire poverty—but I also see your wealth. And I hear the lie in the claims of those who pretend to be good Jews, who in fact belong to Satan’s crowd.
10 “Fear nothing in the things you’re about to suffer—but stay on guard! Fear nothing! The Devil is about to throw you in jail for a time of testing—ten days. It won’t last forever.
“Don’t quit, even if it costs you your life. Stay there believing. I have a Life-Crown sized and ready for you.
11 “Are your ears awake? Listen. Listen to the Wind Words, the Spirit blowing through the churches. Christ-conquerors are safe from Devil-death.”
What do we learn?
–God KNOWS what you are going through right now. And He is there.
–Listen to Him. Only Him.
–Jesus takes notice of all our troubles. He hears our cries for help.
–Jesus knows who is lying to us, or speaking ill will behind our backs.
–He knows we are mocked in our belief. Jesus knows. Believe that and fear will fade.
–Who knows better than our Lord who was mocked unmercifully, died on a cross and rose again, defeating death forever.
–Believe and we will be saved from the death of our souls, the slow forever dying death for those who do not believe and trust our Master, Jesus Christ.
–Listen. Take notice of Jesus. Our troubles are only for a little while. Jesus, the first and last, wins. We win.
–We are Christ-Conquerors, safe from whatever the devil tries to do to take us on.
–Fight or flight? Just believe and we will be saved!

Dear Heavenly Father, What a comfort you are to us this morning for we are weak but You are strong. Your Word give us strength and reminds us to stay alert and not give up. Ever. Thank you for relieving all fear and replacing it with Your peace.
In Jesus Name, Amen
