Psalms of Honesty and Truth
We cry out for help from God…and He gives it! Maybe it is not exactly what we asked for because we are human but God gives according to what He sees as best for us. We can’t go wrong asking for God’s help and then taking it to heart and thanking him for it all! We are clothed in His blessings every day!
Psalm 3, The Message
A David Psalm, When He Escaped for His Life from Absalom, His Son
3 1-2 God! Look! Enemies past counting!
Enemies sprouting like mushrooms,
Mobs of them all around me, roaring their mockery:
“Hah! No help for him from God!”
3-4 But you, God, shield me on all sides;
You ground my feet, you lift my head high;
With all my might I shout up to God,
His answers thunder from the holy mountain.
5-6 I stretch myself out. I sleep.
Then I’m up again—rested, tall and steady,
Fearless before the enemy mobs
Coming at me from all sides.
7 Up, God! My God, help me!
Slap their faces,
First this cheek, then the other,
Your fist hard in their teeth!
8 Real help comes from God.
Your blessing clothes your people!

What do we learn and think about?
–God is with us. Always.
–He will protect us. Always.
–He will be our strength each morning to face another day. Always.
–He restores us. He delivers us from our enemies. Always.
–We are a blessed people!
–God brings peace as we sleep.
Dear Heavenly Father, Help us to always think of the power of Your work while we sleep peacefully. You never sleep. You are at work all around the world You created at all times. You are our mighty Father, full of power tempered with mercy and grace for Your Created. And You love us, no matter what, You love us. Yes, we are clothed in Your blessings. Help us to live gratefully today knowing these things. In Jesus Name, Amen
