Psalms of Honesty and Truth
There is a theme in these current series of Psalms that could bring us down and cause revengeful feelings if we let it. There are a lot of harsh words because of David’s battles with Saul. These words are cried out in anguish to God who hears the desperate pleas for resolve. But in the middle of this horrific situation, God settles David down. By the end of the tirade, David sings a chorus of praises and acknowledges Who God is and declares God’s dependable love. David relies on and rests in God’s love for him. David loves to watch God take over and do what David cannot do.
We are blessed in our household to not have someone chasing us down to kill us because we are God’s people. We pray for those who are in this situation. We are blessed to know God and have an intimate, growing relationship with Him. We also love to daily watch God work, in every detail, in our lives. We have finally learned to let go of all that restrains us and hold tight to God’s will and purposes. We have had trying times but in those situations, God revealed is power and glory.
So let us read, meditate and hold tight to the end of Psalm 58 this morning. Be blessed and remember God’s dependable love to all of us who believe HE CAN do anything. Nothing is too hard for God. He is our Heavenly Father who hides us from the enemy, allows rest when we need it, then equips us with all we need to go back to battle…that He is fighting for us. With God, WHO can be against us? No one. Ah, no matter what, God loves you. He loves me. We can depend on that through it all. THIS is abundant living that Jesus came to tell us about and died and rose again for so that we might live, TRULY live. Forever.
“For you’ve been a safe place for me, a good place to hide. Strong God, I’m watching you do it, I can always count on you–God, my dependable love.” Psalm 59, The Message

Dear Heavenly Father, I am resting this morning with thoughts of Your dependable, unconditional love for me. Thank you for reminding me once more. When I feel pinned against a wall, I look up and You remove the wall, making a way to escape. We pray, you work. Amazing love. Thank you.
In Jesus Name, Amen
