YOU ARE MY SPECIAL TREASURE! –GOD

When Randy proposed marriage to me, he told me he loved me so much that he needed to spend the rest of his life with me. My love for him was growing at a rapid pace during those previous months of dating. But, I felt so unworthy to be this happily in love with another person. I thought I was the only one “in love”. I couldn’t believe that HE would love me back and love me back so much that I would be included in his life..forever. Wow, to be loved back is a treasure in itself. To be called a treasure, something of value in God’s eyes goes over the top in my thinking! But that’s what God is telling His people through Moses….

“The LORD called out to him from the mountain and said, ‘Give these instructions to the descendants of Jacob, the people of Israel: ‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I brought you to myself and carried you on eagle’s wings. Now, if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the nations of the earth; for all the earth belongs to me. And you will be to me a kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’ Give this message to the Israelites.'” Exodus 19, NLT

“They all responded together, ‘We will certainly do everything the LORD asks of us.’ So Moses brought the people’s answer back to the LORD.” Exodus 19, NTL

My answer to Randy was a resounding YES! after I said, are you sure? Me? You want me? Forever? He assured me that very day, that he would love me for the rest of our lives. Over 40 years later, we are still loving each other as treasures, precious treasures. Together, with God in the middle of our marriage, leading and guiding us, showing us His love for us and through us, we are carried on “eagle’s wings” with His protection and provision. We choose to obey God that comes from our love for Him.

Our love for each other, as a “treasure”, comes from knowing God treasures us. God gave his only Son, Jesus Christ for us. He gave His life for you. YOU are HIS treasure. Believe it. Live it, knowing that You are loved by the God of the ages! People will notice! The same God that carried Moses and the people, carries us…today, NOW! What encouragement!

Dear Heavenly Father, We love You because You first loved us. Thank you! Now we will meditate on this all day long…
