GETTING THE KIDS READY FOR CHURCH!
Kinda like nailing jello to a wall…

Randy and I had three kids. Getting them cleaned up for church, all at the same time, was a bit like going to a three-ring circus! In this ring we have one in the bath tub, while in the second ring we have one crying because her hair won’t “do right”, and in the last ring we have a little boy who could care less about the time, “meditating between each sock to be put on! Yes, I remember. Now they are grown, married, with kids of their own that do the same things they did…God is good.

Getting a million people cleaned up to meet God is Moses’ work in today’s passage. He even had them wash their clothing. Every thing clean, bodies and clothes. “Get ready for an important event two days from now” Moses says to the people. Exodus 19, NLT

That “event” is even more spectacular than Moses knows! “The LORD came down on the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. God tells Moses to go down and have the people stand in a “boundary set” area as a cleaned up people. “Moses went down to the people and told them what the LORD had said.” THEN GOD SPEAKS TO ALL…

THE TEN – THE BIG EVENT! (Exodus 20, NLT)
“Then God instructed the people as follows:

I am the LORD your God, who rescued you from slavery in Egypt.”

God reminds the people who HE is and what HE has done. There is no other God but our God. No one can do what HE does. He has proven Himself over and over to His people. The miracles of the plagues and parting the waters of the Red Sea, to name a couple, that they, themselves, experienced.

What does this tell us about God? God wants us to KNOW without a doubt WHO HE is, FIRST, so HIS identity will not be mistaken with anyone else. Do YOU know GOD? Really, KNOW Him? Do you/we question Him without knowing WHO He is?

We are going to follow these words, these powerful words, from God to His people, bite by bite, with much thought and meditation. Yes, do we realize and know WHO GOD is?

Dear Heavenly Father, Our minds are so simple. We want to know You more. Only You can do what You do but we need to know WHO You are..the great I AM…the GOD, before anything or anyone else, God. Help us to know YOU more and to think about this all day long as we work and relate YOU to others along our way. In Jesus Name, Amen
