Abram’s call to leave the life he had behind had a reason. There is always a reason for us, as well. God will call, then equip, then send with a clear purpose, a bottom line, if you will, designed His way, worked out in His time to fulfill HIS plan. We do not jump ahead. We should not “help God out”. We need to just trust and obey. Sometimes we over-think. We will learn more in trusting and obeying than jumping ahead, for God will make us move back 10 spaces in the game of life, to show His power, and redirect you to His best for you. It’s all about God. We must always ask, “What do YOU want, LORD, God our Father?”
“I will cause you to become the father of a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and I will make you a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of the earth will be blessed by you.”
I AM tells Abram, “I will…”
Wow! God’s plan is outlined for Abram. The “bottom-line” is expressed. So Abram departs “as the LORD had instructed him…”
He took his family and his stuff that would sustain them on the journey. After awhile they set up camp.
“Then the LORD appeared to Abram and said, ‘I am going to give this land to your offspring,’ And Abram built an altar there to commemorate the LORD’s visit. After that, Abram traveled southward and set up camp in the hill country between Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar and worshiped the LORD.” Genesis 12, NLT
Abram obeys God’s call and embraces His plan. As God guides, Abram worships. He worships God at every step.
How exciting to be in the center of God’s will, know it and respond with pure worship! At every step in the journey, God guides. Lesson to be learned is this: As God guides, He provides. He shows the way. He protects. As we respond with worship, God responds with the next step in His plan. Mmm. Something to think about today.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We “camp out” in worship of You as we meditate on your word. While waiting, we will work diligently at the work you have provided for us to do with enthusiasm and gratefulness as worship back to You. We give you our lives, trusting and obeying. In Jesus Name, Amen
