God’s Acts…
What happens when all harmonies are sung and played with instruments in perfect pitch with eyes focused on the Conductor? You experience a breath-taking, heart stirring concert of pure art in motion. That’s what happens when the people of God, the church of God, comes together in remarkable harmony. People notice. Hearts are stirred. Minds are amazed. Souls hunger for more. Healing of all kinds happens as an aside to all that is good coming from the Father because of our focus on Him with one mind, one heart in motion.
This next small passage stirs my heart. It’s simple and sensational at the same time! There were those on the outside who were wary of what was going on with these peculiar people of God, but they stayed close to see what might happen next. On the other hand…
Acts 5, The Message
They All Met Regularly
12-16 Through the work of the apostles, many God-signs were set up among the people, many wonderful things done. They all met regularly and in remarkable harmony on the Temple porch named after Solomon. But even though people admired them a lot, outsiders were wary about joining them.
On the other hand, those who put their trust in the Master were added right and left, men and women both. They even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on stretchers and bedrolls, hoping they would be touched by Peter’s shadow when he walked by. They came from the villages surrounding Jerusalem, throngs of them, bringing the sick and bedeviled. And they all were healed.
Thought for reflection:
What are we looking for? What is the hunger of our souls? God-signs? Remarkable harmony? Meeting regularly because we want to not because we feel we have to? What stirs our hearts today?
Dear Heavenly Father, I sing this son to You with a sincere heart,
Beautiful Lord, wonderful Savior
I know for sure all of my days are held in Your hand
Crafted into Your perfect plan
You gently called me into Your presence
Guiding me by Your Holy Spirit
Teach me dear Lord, to live all of my life
Through Your eyes
And I’m captured by Your Holy calling
Set me apart, I know You’re drawing me to Yourself
Lead me Lord, I pray
Take me and mold me, use me, fill me
I give my life to the Potter’s hand
Call me, You guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to the Potter’s hand
In Jesus Name, Amen
