Psalms – Prayers of Honesty and Praise

In today’s world, “psalmists” write and sing prayers of searching…for example: You Say by Lauren Daigle:
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Like the singer, Lauren Daigle expresses, we all have those days, searching for Truth and the reason for their existence.

Psalm 119, The Message
Part Twelve
89-96

What you say goes, God,
and stays, as permanent as the heavens.
Your truth never goes out of fashion;
it’s as up-to-date as the earth when the sun comes up.
Your Word and truth are dependable as ever;
that’s what you ordered—you set the earth going.
If your revelation hadn’t delighted me so,
I would have given up when the hard times came.
But I’ll never forget the advice you gave me;
you saved my life with those wise words.

I look high and low for your words of wisdom.
The wicked lie in ambush to destroy me,
but I’m only concerned with your plans for me.
I see the limits to everything human,
but the horizons can’t contain your commands!
Gods Truth: “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.” John 3:16-18, The Message

So, with God’s Truth, that never fails, never gives up on us, never needs improvements, never needs watered down or dressed up, why ignore Truth or leave parts out that offend us? Believe, repent, let go of what you think truth is for you and say a complete YES to God, who IS Truth, along with, “what you say goes, God!”
Then lived redeemed and sing this song of Truth! (Who Am I by Hillsong)
Who am I that the highest King
Would welcome me?
I was lost but He brought me in
Oh His love for me
Oh His love for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
Free at last, He has ransomed me
His grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin
Jesus died for me
Yes He died for me
Who the Son sets free
Oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
In my Father’s house
There’s a place for me
I’m a child of God
Yes I am
I am chosen
Not forsaken
I am who You say I am
You are for me
Not against me
I am who You say I am…
Believe and you will be saved. –God

Thank you for bringing us to Truth, first in the form of a Person, Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for Truth of Your Word. There is nothing to add to your Truth or take away. You are God and we are not. Thank you for preparing a place for me in your house. Thank you for calling me your child. Truth is, I am who YOU say I am. I’m yours. Forever. So, whatever you say goes, Father.
In Jesus Name, Amen
