Psalms – Prayers of Honesty and Praise

When health is restored, we celebrate! When all the bills are paid on time, we celebrate! When food is on the table with enough for leftovers, we celebrate. When problems come with solutions right around the corner, we celebrate! When something was broken that you relied on is finally fixed, we celebrate! When hurdles in life seem to high for us to jump, but suddenly we see ways to get it done, we celebrate! When life throws us a curve ball, but somehow, we hit it out of the park anyway, we celebrate!

We humans have a natural tendency to pat ourselves on the back for all the small stuff and even the big stuff that is accomplished on our behalf by the Lover of our souls…God. Let us, indeed, sing Him a new song of praise that does not include praise for us. We are here to love God, love others, serve at His bidding and go where He sends. We are His children and He is our Father. God loves, cares, protects and provides and then showers us with blessings on top of all that! Yes, let us celebrate GOD and God alone today for all He has done, is doing and will do forevermore for His kids. Why? Because of His great love for us.
Psalm 149, The Message

1-4 Hallelujah!
Sing to God a brand-new song,
praise him in the company of all who love him.
Let all Israel celebrate their Sovereign Creator,
Zion’s children exult in their King.
Let them praise his name in dance;
strike up the band and make great music!
And why? Because God delights in his people,
festoons plain folk with salvation garlands!

sing out from wherever they’re sitting,
Shout the high praises of God,
brandish their swords in the wild sword-dance—
A portent of vengeance on the God-defying nations,
a signal that punishment’s coming,
Their kings chained and hauled off to jail,
their leaders behind bars for good,
The judgment on them carried out to the letter
—and all who love God in the seat of honor!
Hallelujah!

God, Our Father in Heaven,
Thank you for strength for this day. We praise you for allowing us wake up this morning and know that we are in your care and keeping. We praise you for You are God and we are not. You are responsible for us, lover of all of us and you know all that we need before we need it. You are Savior and Lord. You are the ultimate guide for this journey. You protect us from evil. You even deliver us from all evil when we call on Your Name. Thank you. It is right and fitting that you receive ALL praise.
In Jesus Name, Amen. Hallelujah!
Let’s forget about ourselves
And magnify the Lord
And worship HIM….
