David begged God to rescue him from those who sought his demise. He recognized the wickedness of his enemies and asked God to intervene.
God does indeed work mighty deeds and miracles behalf of his children. I have seen it with my own eyes! My whole life of messes and setbacks that were miraculously turned into lessons and messages of God greatness and grace will never be without my praises of gratitude for all He has done, is doing, and will do. To God be the glory!
Embrace our God who is for us! Invite Him in to all decisions to be made from morning until we lay our heads down at night. God is God—we are not. He knows—we do not. Trust God—He knows what He is doing. Don’t get in the way of God at work on our behalf!
Psalm 36, The Message

1-4 The God-rebel tunes in to sedition—
all ears, eager to sin.
He has no regard for God,
he stands insolent before him.
He has smooth-talked himself
into believing
That his evil
will never be noticed.
Words gutter from his mouth,
dishwater dirty.
Can’t remember when he
did anything decent.
Every time he goes to bed,
he fathers another evil plot.
When he’s loose on the streets,
nobody’s safe.
He plays with fire
and doesn’t care who gets burned.
5-6 God’s love is meteoric,
his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
slips through the cracks.
7-9 How exquisite your love, O God!
How eager we are to run under your wings,
To eat our fill at the banquet you spread
as you fill our tankards with Eden spring water.
You’re a fountain of cascading light,
and you open our eyes to light.
10-12 Keep on loving your friends;
do your work in welcoming hearts.
Don’t let the bullies kick me around,
the moral midgets slap me down.
Send the upstarts sprawling
flat on their faces in the mud.
WHAT DO WE LEARN—HOW DO WE RESPOND?
Living the abundant life Jesus taught means focusing on the One who is constant, unchanging in His love for us and who gives Life eternal to all who believe.
Sin deceives us (Roman 7:11) and flatters us (Psalm 10:3; Deuteronomy 29:19), giving us the false assurance that our rebellion will go unpunished (Genesis 3:1–5). “Listen to your heart!” the world tells us, forgetting that “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9).
Seek the heart of God and focus on His “exquisite love” and cascading Light of truth.
“What a privilege it is to be God’s children! We are resting safely under His wings, feasting joyfully at His table, drinking abundantly from His river, and walking confidently in His light! In response to these blessings David prayed that the Lord would continue His blessings on His people and one day judge the wicked. God will continue to bless us if we love Him, get to know Him better, and walk in obedience to His will. —Warren Wiersbe, Wiersbe Study Bible
Lord,
Thank you for saving my soul and making me whole. Cleanse my heart, renew my mind, refresh my soul with your tender mercies, and restore the joy of your salvation at work within me. To you be the glory!
In Jesus Name, Amen
