AT OUR LOWEST, LOOK TO THE HIGHEST!

It’s been said many times and felt often that when we get to the end of ourselves; we finally give in and look to God whose thoughts are higher and greater than ours.  But this morning, I wonder, why do we wait so long?  We complain to God in our troubles and trials, “how long, oh Lord, do I have to go through this?”, while He is already at work to bring us back into His Presence, helping us to see more what He sees in us and in the current, temporary circumstance He is using to grow our faith.  We want what we want; but God desires hearts commitment to Him and who seeks Him first when troubles hit our hearts and homes.  God uses all that is done in the name of evil to guide us from the low places in our lives to higher ground thinking–to all that is of the greatest good for us.  God view of life is eternal. Live with God is abundant and free with nothing held back.  God is indeed higher and greater than our minds can conceive. Why trust anyone else?

There is a song of my past that I lean into when I think of how God’s love, mercy, and grace saved, healed, and renewed my broken parts from trials meant to consume me.  Phillips, Craig, and Dean sing “Your Grace Still Amazes Me with the worship of God on their hearts…

Psalm 43, The Message

1-2 Clear my name, God; stick up for me
    against these loveless, immoral people.
Get me out of here, away
    from these lying degenerates.
I counted on you, God.
Why did you walk out on me?
Why am I pacing the floor, wringing my hands
    over these outrageous people?

3-4 Give me your lantern and compass,
    give me a map,
So I can find my way to the sacred mountain,
to the place of your presence,
To enter the place of worship,
    meet my exuberant God,
Sing my thanks with a harp,
    magnificent God, my God.

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul?
Why are you crying the blues?
Fix my eyes on God—
    soon I’ll be praising again.
He puts a smile on my face.
    He’s my God.

WHAT DO WE LEARN—HOW DO WE RESPOND?

The best way to climb from the lowest place is to embrace His grace!  God is amazing and miraculous in His ways because His ways are always greater and higher than ours!  Live this truth as we walk humbly with God and watch with expectant hope and thanksgiving what God does in our lives. There is no one like our God!

One of the greatest “side effects” of growing an intimate relationship with God is this;

The closer we get to God in Jesus Name; the closer we become with each other!

Lord,

Your faithful forgiveness, your unending mercies and your grace undeserving is too much at times to wrap our limited minds around this truth.  But that doesn’t stop you!  You so loved that you sent a part of yourself, Jesus, oh dear Jesus thank you, who willingly laid down your life for ours so that our sins could be paid for in full.  As far as the east is from the west, our sins are removed!  Help us to meditate on this truth all day long. Help us to rely on truth as a stepping stone from the lowest to the Highest place—Your Presence!

In Jesus Name, Amen
