Randy and I are settling in a new state across the nation from our former state.  Settling means starting fresh in a new place with a new culture.  For us, it also means finding new doctors, pharmacies, with new insurance to help cover these expenses. We trusted God in this move and He did not fail for God never fails to amaze us as we put all our trust in Him.  Trust is the key to God’s Presence. In all the newness—this truth has not changed.

We prayed, trusting God to lead us to a primary care physician in our new state of Arizona.  God led us to a doctor just a few blocks from our new home!  Randy saw the doctor last week; then I saw and talked with him for the first time yesterday.  His assistant is highly efficient and kind as well. The doctor is very compassionate and listens to our responses with understanding.  This is new to us!  The doctor asked us, as seniors, about our daily lives as well as our medical past.  His office had sent for our former records—and this doctor had read them before he spoke to us!  In the conversation about current lifestyles; he asked if we had found a church for that is important for life.  We told him of the church we feel God had led us to right away and that God’s Holy Spirit is evident among the staff as well as among the volunteers who help.

Wow, to God be the glory! We felt God was in the room with us.  These are not normal conversations between the medical world and patients! Thank you, God!

But that’s not all, our new doctor’s assistant, came back into the room to finish the checkup procedures and we had beautiful conversations about the goodness of God with each other!  She quoted scriptures while I am amening and praising God.  Again, not a normal occurrence from our past experiences with the medical field! 

We sing “I trust in God, My Savior, the One who is able; He will never fail…”; but do we really believe what we are singing while remembering all that God has done, is doing and will do in our lives for our good and His glory?  AND in all circumstance?  We also sing, “How deep the Father’s love for us, it goes beyond all measure” …but does His love permeate our being from the inside out and outside in, causing us to love God back with all that is within us as well as loving others like He loves us?

Before going to the doctor (that I do not enjoy, but who does?), I prayed the words of my favorite psalm of prayer when anxious…

“Let the morning bring word of your unfailing love for all my trust is in you.” (Psalm 143:8) 

God delivered me from my anxiety and gave me peace before entering the exam room.  God provided the doctor and nurse who will help Randy and I navigate the medical world in future days.  To God be the glory!  His Holy Presence was, is, and always will be with us!  And God will be with you, dear friends, as we trust God with all our hearts, minds, and souls.  This is my story and this is my song, trusting my Savior all the day long!

Now, let’s read the story of the psalmist who sings of all that God has provided for His people from generations past so His Presence is known to all who believe with a desire to humbly walk in trust with God daily. Trust God—He knows what He’s doing!  Can I get an amen?

Psalm 105, The Message

^1-6 Hallelujah!

Thank God! Pray to him by name!
    Tell everyone you meet what he has done!
Sing him songs, belt out hymns,
    translate his wonders into music!
Honor his holy name with Hallelujahs,
    you who seek God. Live a happy life!
Keep your eyes open for God, watch for his works;
    be alert for signs of his presence.
Remember the world of wonders he has made,
    his miracles, and the verdicts he’s rendered—
        O seed of Abraham, his servant,
        O child of Jacob, his chosen.

^7-15 He’s God, our God,
    in charge of the whole earth.
And he remembers, remembers his Covenant—
    for a thousand generations he’s been as good as his word.
It’s the Covenant he made with Abraham,
    the same oath he swore to Isaac,
The very statute he established with Jacob,
    the eternal Covenant with Israel,
Namely, “I give you the land.
    Canaan is your hill-country inheritance.”
When they didn’t count for much,
    a mere handful, and strangers at that,
Wandering from country to country,
    drifting from pillar to post,
He permitted no one to abuse them.
    He told kings to keep their hands off:
“Don’t you dare lay a hand on my anointed,
    don’t hurt a hair on the heads of my prophets.”

^16-22 Then he called down a famine on the country,
    he broke every last blade of wheat.
But he sent a man on ahead:
    Joseph, sold as a slave.
They put cruel chains on his ankles,
    an iron collar around his neck,
Until God’s word came to the Pharaoh,
    and God confirmed his promise.
God sent the king to release him.
    The Pharaoh set Joseph free;
He appointed him master of his palace,
    put him in charge of all his business
To personally instruct his princes
    and train his advisors in wisdom.

^23-42 Then Israel entered Egypt,
    Jacob immigrated to the Land of Ham.
God gave his people lots of babies;
    soon their numbers alarmed their foes.
He turned the Egyptians against his people;
    they abused and cheated God’s servants.

Then he sent his servant Moses,
    and Aaron, whom he also chose.
They worked marvels in that spiritual wasteland,
    miracles in the Land of Ham.
He spoke, “Darkness!” and it turned dark—
    they couldn’t see what they were doing.
He turned all their water to blood
    so that all their fish died;
He made frogs swarm through the land,
    even into the king’s bedroom;
He gave the word and flies swarmed,
    gnats filled the air.
He substituted hail for rain,
    he stabbed their land with lightning;
He wasted their vines and fig trees,
    smashed their groves of trees to splinters;
With a word he brought in locusts,
    millions of locusts, armies of locusts;
They consumed every blade of grass in the country
    and picked the ground clean of produce;
He struck down every firstborn in the land,
    the first fruits of their virile powers.

He led Israel out, their arms filled with loot,
    and not one among his tribes even stumbled.
Egypt was glad to have them go—
    they were scared to death of them.
God spread a cloud to keep them cool through the day
    and a fire to light their way through the night;
They prayed and he brought quail,
    filled them with the bread of heaven;
He opened the rock and water poured out;
    it flowed like a river through that desert—
All because he remembered his Covenant,
    his promise to Abraham, his servant.

^43-45 Remember this! He led his people out singing for joy;
    his chosen people marched, singing their hearts out!
He made them a gift of the country they entered,
    helped them seize the wealth of the nations
So they could do everything he told them—
    could follow his instructions to the letter.

WHAT DO WE LEARN—HOW DO WE RESPOND?

Tell me your story of trust in God!  Tell others of God’s Presence with you in all the details of our lives!  It is not God’s desire that anyone perish so He gave us His Presence with us to testify to His Goodness and Greatness!  We are Christ’s ambassadors create to worship and tell the story of God!  Go!

May we fill pages and pages in the comments about God and His Holy Presence with us!  Don’t be shy—let the whole world know who God is and what He has done and is doing! 

Lord, God of all,

Let the morning bring word of your unfailing love, to all who are reading this, in ways they cannot deny Your Holy Presence with them!  Pour out your blessings of compassionate care that releases all our fears and anxieties.  Lead us to all that is good for we surrender all to you who is Good. I trust you because I love you with all my heart, mind, and soul!
