I WILL TRUST

Psalms – Prayers of Honesty and Praise

psalm 119 128 trust godLetting go of every single dream
I lay each one down at Your feet
Every moment of my wandering
Never changes what You see
I try to win this war
I confess, my hands are weary, I need Your rest
Mighty warrior, king of the fight
No matter what I face You’re by my side

When You don’t move the mountains
I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You

This song, I will Trust, by Lauren Daigle plays in the background of my mind as I read and study our next passage of Psalm 119.

psalm 119 124Psalm 119, The Message
Part 16
121-128

I stood up for justice and the right;
don’t leave me to the mercy of my oppressors.
Take the side of your servant, good God;
don’t let the godless take advantage of me.
I can’t keep my eyes open any longer, waiting for you
to keep your promise to set everything right.
Let your love dictate how you deal with me;
teach me from your textbook on life.
psalm 119 125
I’m your servant—help me understand what that means,
the inner meaning of your instructions.
It’s time to act, God;
they’ve made a shambles of your revelation!
Yea-Saying God, I love what you command,
I love it better than gold and gemstones;
Yea-Saying God, I honor everything you tell me,
I despise every deceitful detour.

FROM THE HEART…

psalm 119 128 help me
God has invited Randy and I to join Him in His work in Santa Cruz, Bolivia as teachers for four months. When you say yes to God, you are immediately thrilled and elated. His Presence is magnified when you are in rhythm with His will and purpose. But then, along with the yes comes the work of preparation. There are hurdles to jump, details to wade through and other small “mountains” to climb so we can be gone for four months. God is helping us jump, wade and climb hourly, each day. But today, in weather that even stops the mail, we wait for documents so we can complete our tax preparation. We wait for word on a canceled vacation so those funds can be applied to His work. We wait for the pharmacy to complete the order to supply Randy with all his meds for 120 plus days.

psalm-119-124-deall-with-us.jpgI woke up with all the details that still need to happen. But quickly following those thoughts, this song came to mind. I prayed to go laying all the details of this dream He has given us at His feet. Then I read His Word. This phrase popped out as if it were highlighted just for me: “I can’t keep my eyes open any longer, waiting for you to keep your promise to set everything right.” Yes, these few details, along with the weather, will be set right because we have said yes to God.

“Let your love dictate how you deal with me;
teach me from your textbook on life.
I’m your servant—help me understand what that means,
the inner meaning of your instructions.”

I will trust. I am still learning to wait. While waiting I will keep learning and growing in my love for the One who has everything under control. Our very lives depend on understanding what God’s textbook on life says. Yes, I will trust and obey even when I don’t understand it all…yet.

Back to our song…

psalm 119 128 trustTruth is, You know what tomorrow brings
There’s not a day ahead You have not seen
So let all things be my life and breath
I want what You want Lord and nothing less

When You don’t move the mountains
I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
I will trust in You

Another hymn song of my childhood chimes in as well:

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Every thing to God in prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Your love runs deep for us. I am still trying to understand the depths of your love. But I know and love you with all that is in me. I will trust in You. I will wait and hear Your words of comfort and peace. I will stand for what is right in your eyes and in your heart for that is expressed clearly in Your Word. Thank you for continuing to teach me. Thank you for peace in the wait with thoughts of other chores I can do while waiting.
In Jesus Name, Amen

“Yea-Saying God, I love what you command,
I love it better than gold and gemstones;
Yea-Saying God, I honor everything you tell me,”

psalm 119 121 god is with us
You are my strength and comfort
You are my steady hand
You are my firm foundation
The rock on which I stand
Your ways are always higher
Your plans are always good
There’s not a place where I’ll go
You’ve not already stood

When You don’t move the mountains
I’m needing You to move
When You don’t part the waters
I wish I could walk through
When You don’t give the answers
As I cry out to You
I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You
I will trust in You
I will trust in You
I will trust in You
