We brought the idea of moving to a warmer place to the Lord. We asked for wisdom to decide. Then we asked for the way to do it. We prayed His will be done. We lived in a nice home that we had invested in for almost twenty years. We lived near family. But to sell in a good market at the best price seemed good. So, as we prayed for His direction with each step to take. We began to downsize what we had and prepare our home for sale. We prayed that if any moment this was not God’s will for Him to let us know by shutting doors. God did not. What He did do is miraculous and spectacular for this is how our God works for those who honestly and complete come to Him for wisdom and advice with nothing held back. It began with our moving sale; people found out we were thinking of making a change. One person called another and before we could put a for sale sign in the yard; a buyer came and offered full price and little bit more! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
But wait, we do not have a house to go to! No problem for God! After praying for God’s choice for us we began searching Zillow. We settled on a first and second choice. Ah, but our first choice was already under contract. So, we chose another home to pursue. God, however, is still in charge.
Being 1900 miles away, with a home to sell, could not go see it in person. No problem, a friend we had worked alongside in church had moved there three years earlier—and I remembered he was a realtor. He contacted us first to say he could help. He would check out the home for us. Is God in this or what!? Fortunately, our son and daughter in law, who lived close by were able to go to be our eyes. We facetimed together as they physically walked through the house. Upon close inspection, however, this was not the one. Okay, we must search again.
Then our realtor friend had an idea. “Let me call the realtor who is handling your first choice and see how solid that contract is”. We found out the owners were taking back up contracts as the first one was not solid with the possibility of backing out—and they did back out! Our realtor friend and our kids went to see the first choice and all were in agreement that this was the one. We made an offer and it was received. Nothing is impossible with God.
If you have ever bought and sold a house; you know that all the details and emotions involved in paperwork legalities, closing on one home and then another, the hard work involved of packing and loading in the move across the country, is a tremendous undertaking with daily details that must be attended to quickly and efficiently to make it all come together for buyers and sellers. It is not for the faint of heart! God knows that! In our weakness, God provided strength. Every. Day.
Randy and I prayed daily, Lord, we need you every hour and with each step we take. We have praised God daily with each phone call, text, help from family in the move, and for the wisdom from God to read and sign all the paperwork! Only God could do what He did in our lives in this short month of April! To God be the glory—great things HE has done. We are still running full speed with God, hanging on to His Hand, as he leads us to our new adventure with Him! The journey began the day after Easter, April 6. We leave this place for another April 29. What a Mighty God we love and serve! This is our testimony of a Great God!
All our trust is in God who created all, is in all, and loves all who seek Him sincerely with surrender to His Will. I’m alive to tell it! Praise God!
Psalm 33, The Message
1-3 Good people, cheer God!
Right-living people sound best when praising.
Use guitars to reinforce your Hallelujahs!
Play his praise on a grand piano!
Compose your own new song to him;
give him a trumpet fanfare.
4-5 For God’s Word is solid to the core;
everything he makes is sound inside and out.
He loves it when everything fits,
when his world is in plumb-line true.
Earth is drenched
in God’s affectionate satisfaction.
6-7 The skies were made by God’s command;
he breathed the word and the stars popped out.
He scooped Sea into his jug,
put Ocean in his keg.
8-9 Earth-creatures, bow before God;
world-dwellers—down on your knees!
Here’s why: he spoke and there it was,
in place the moment he said so.
10-12 God takes the wind out of Babel pretense,
he shoots down the world’s power-schemes.
God’s plan for the world stands up,
all his designs are made to last.
Blessed is the country with God for God;
blessed are the people he’s put in his will.
13-15 From high in the skies God looks around,
he sees all Adam’s brood.
From where he sits
he overlooks all us earth-dwellers.
He has shaped each person in turn;
now he watches everything we do.
16-17 No king succeeds with a big army alone,
no warrior wins by brute strength.
Horsepower is not the answer;
no one gets by on muscle alone.
18-19 Watch this: God’s eye is on those who respect him,
the ones who are looking for his love.
He’s ready to come to their rescue in bad times;
in lean times he keeps body and soul together.
20-22 We’re depending on God;
he’s everything we need.
What’s more, our hearts brim with joy
since we’ve taken for our own his holy name.
Love us, God, with all you’ve got—
that’s what we’re depending on.
WHAT DO WE LEARN—HOW DO WE RESPOND?
I have learned from His Word and Holy Spirit that the more I seek, love, and trust God the more content I am in my walk with God! As the Psalmist sings, “He’s everything we need.”
Our response, knowing God is all we need, is to truly depend on God in all the details.
ALL of the details!
Lord,
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
In Jesus Name, Amen
